My CCS Story
From the very beginning, I knew that my story would start with hair. I cultivated my own work-study program in high-school that set me on a unique path in the industry, giving me insight and training prior to cosmetology school. Twenty years later, it's this same mindset that gave me the courage to create the groundbreaking Color Canvas System.
Instead of spending time in study hall or leaving early, I immersed myself in a local salon, answering phones, shadowing my stylist, and learning from my mentor. At 19, fueled by faith and passion, I took the leap and purchased my first salon, driven by a deep desire to make my mark in the beauty industry.
I constantly pursued growth and creativity, participating in hair shows, working backstage, and serving as Iowa's TIGI ambassador. As time passed, I evolved, and my proudest moment in the salon industry came when I owned a thriving Aveda salon in the heart of Lincoln, Nebraska's historic Haymarket district. It was within the walls of my salon that the idea for CCS was born.
A simple client request, a screenshot, and a burst of creativity from Pinterest sparked the creation of Color Canvas Systems, a revolutionary tool that reshaped the hair industry. Selling my successful Aveda salon was a daunting decision, but it opened the door to a new chapter in my journey as a stylist and a self-made female entrepreneur.
With unwavering determination, I poured my passion into developing Color Canvas Systems, which now boasts five patents and global recognition. My story stands as proof that dreams can, indeed, come true.
From humble beginnings to a global reach, my unwavering purpose has been the driving force behind my journey. With a love for hair, innovation, and people, I have spent over 25 years in the industry, culminating in the creation of CCS - the first-ever customizable color stand. This tool, born out of a need for efficiency in the salon, has revolutionized the way stylists work.
Through research, development, and feedback from customers, CCS has become a staple in salons worldwide. Despite facing challenges along the way, my determination never wavered, knowing the impact this tool could have on the industry. The joy and pride I feel seeing the positive effects of CCS on stylists is immeasurable, and it serves as a reminder of the power of hard work and dedication.
